Cyntara v8 - Season 2 - Pushing Forward
Cyntara always has and always has been under development. Every update we provide, we understand that in the future, it may need to be tweaked or even completly reworked. Our main goal of this update was to bring more balance to the server as a whole. So, what have we reworked?
Almost all items have been reworked; furthermore, every item that was reworked was buffed
. The item changes made by Heztix
will more closely bridge the gap between donor items and non-donor items. A lot of the higher end items such as prismatic and gill items, as well as soft boots and firewalker boots, have received a noticeable boost. Many players will notice that, regardless of their set and current progress, they have become stronger with this update! While on the topic of becoming stronger, we would like to share the new experience stages!
We became well aware that the "rebirth" quest, An Alternate Fate, may never see the light of day if players were unable or unwilling to reach level 1,800. We felt it was appropriate to adjust the experience rate in order to eliminate a good amount of the "grind" that was required to reach some of the end-game content. This change is even more germane to Cyntara's newest environment, considering the death penalty was raised during Season 2 in order to accomodate for more rewarding wars; it is our hope, that with this change, players will be more excited to embark on new adventures!
It has become clear that some players found it acceptable to power abuse new and low level players. The Cyntara staff want the server to be welcoming to everyone, and not just players that understand how Cyntara is developed and how the game is played. Every veteran Cyntara player was a newbie at one point, and nobody wants to be put down when trying to have a good time.
From today on, new players under level 1,000 will not receive a real death if the player that kills them is greater than 2x higher level than them. Please note that this system only applies to players that have recently joined Cyntara. If, in the future, this system needs to be tweaked, it will be adjusted to best fit the server.
Raids! Raids! Raids!
When v8-s2 started, it was clear that the raid system was woefully underworked. Today, the new raid system will be actively working behind-the-scenes! This is more than a "random chance" every hour for a raid to start. The new raid system will use the online player count
to help decide when to start raids. That means, the more players online, the more likely raids are to start! This also means that very difficult bosses, like Orshabaal, may not start at all if there are too few players online; this has been implemented as a safety measure for young or small communities.
Raids, events, and lotteries will now also utilize the "Events" channel. This channel will work as a Server Log for events and lotteries. Event Managers are also free to speak in this channel if they hold an event. This channel can be disabled by using its command.
